Objective
Technical procedures for the decrease of anthropogenic trace organic compound concentrations and pathogenic organism concentrations in the partly closed water cycle of the system treatment plant Schönerlinde - OWA Tegel - Tegel Lake - soil passage - water works Tegel, example for an urban water system with low dilution rates
Key activities
Investigations about technical basic principles of trace contaminant activated carbon adsorption and of lab scale to pilot plant scale ozonization and oxidation processes
- Batch experiments for choosing suitable powdery as well as granulated activated carbon products
- Investigations about powdery activated carbon dosage and about granulated activated carbon filtration
- Modeling of the adsorption processes
- Ozonization for trace compound and DOC oxidation
- Large-scale testing and realization of technical barriers
- Planning, building, operation and monitoring of a pilot plant
